Mental health affects every aspect of our lives. From how we parent, work, engage in social activities, make choices in our lives, and is greatly the root-cause affecting our physical health.
I earned my Bachelor of Science at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in 2004 and my Master of Social Work at Saint Louis University in 2006. I have worked in a variety of settings such as post-operative care, transitioning between hospital to home, and for the last 16 years, I worked as a School Social Worker. I am also an Ambassador with Alive and Well Communities in St. Louis as a trainer for Trauma Informed Care.
I specialize in working with individuals and groups, ages 12+, presenting with a vast array of needs, some co-occurring.
Specialties include therapies centered around Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder and other mood disorders, Trauma, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, Parenting, Interpersonal Struggles and Violence, Suicidal Ideation, and Self-Harm, among many other diagnoses and hardships that people face.
In addition to the traditional forms of therapy, I like to promote wellness through holistic modalities including mindfulness, aromatherapy, and nature-based approaches.

Art Therapist, Licensed Clinician Professional Counselor
Imagine a safe space where your child, or teen can go to learn more about their thoughts and feelings. A space where they learn how to use their strengths and interests to reach personal goals or to overcome life’s challenges. Having over 16 years of experience working with kids, I am comfortable working at their pace. I help them find creative interventions to address their concerns and empower them for the future. Art Therapy is a great avenue for facing life’s challenges in a comfortable and familiar way.
Art can be used to tell stories, vent feelings, distract from difficult thoughts and emotions, or put a voice to internal thoughts when words cannot be found. Art Therapy uses an array of art materials including pen, pencil, marker, gel pens, paint, and buildable materials. I also have games for those who prefer less artistic activities.
Life can be overwhelming and difficult. Counseling does not have to be. I strive to make counseling a playful place that youth look forward to coming back to; all while helping them address their personal goals and challenges. Art Therapy can be used to address a multitude of concerns: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Disruptive Behaviors, significant life experiences, complex family dynamics, and many more.
